- Ron Perlman has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump and the Republican party for a few years now and with the current momentum that the Black Lives Matter movement has behind it and the support it’s garnered across the board, the OG Hellboy actor is once again making noise as he’s been burning down congressman Matt Gaetz and Senator Ted Cruz.
After tussling on social media with Florida representative, Gaetz this past weekend over soccer players kneeling on the field (Gaetz opposes of course), Ted Cruz weighed in on the matter and challenged Perlman to wrestle with Republican senator “Gym” Jordan for some weird reason. To make things even weirder, Cruz even offered to pay $10,000 to the charity of Perlman’s choice if he accepted the asinine and nonsensical challenge. Needless to say Perlman responded as you’d expect the son of an anarchist would.
Wait, is this THEE Ted Cruz? Holy shit man! Is this the same guy let little Donnie call his wife A dog and his father an assassin and now kisses his ass? Yo, can I get your autograph man? https://t.co/6QDwCaEkpv

But Perlman turned the tables on Cruz and challenged him to a friendly bout of fisticuffs and even offered to donate $50,000 if Cruz agreed to getting into a one-on-one tussle for a good cause.
I tell you what teddy boy, since mentioning jim jordan and wrestling is… problematic, why don’t we say fuck him and just make it you & me. I’ll give 50k to Black Lives Matter and you can keep all the tax payer money you were thinking of spending. https://t.co/6QDwCaEkpv

Why is Perlman so dug in on the matter? Well aside from his obvious disdain of politicians like Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and Matt Gaetz, the Sons of Anarchy star has two children with his African-American ex-wife of 38 years, Opal Perlman. Y’all ain’t know that, did ya? Well, now you do.
Knowing what’s at stake for the future of his children, Perlman goes hard in the paint when it comes to equality and civil rights for his seeds Blake Perlman, 36, and Brandon Avery Perlman, 30. The man literally has blood in the game and yet these subpar elected officials can’t understand why the movement means so much to the father of two.
As we all know, interracial couples and their children are also susceptible to racism, hate and prejudice. Especially considering that many people simply see color at any given moment. Still not a believer? Then by all means, let us state some examples. Recently an interracial family on a camping trip was harassed and accused of being “Antifa” in rural Washington by armed locals who assumed they were there to protest because, well, you know.
Even the interracial daughter of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chiara was arrested during the protests in New York City. To her credit she never name dropped her father to get out of those handcuffs like others might have.
If you look at Perlman’s kids, they don’t exactly share the “complexion for protection” as that of their famous father. So, it shouldn’t be too surprising that Perlman would be all-in on the the historic movement unfolding in the present day especially given the kind of rhetoric coming out The White House. The dog whistles being blown from the House of White are spurring the kind of hate and animosity that sadly, can even trap an interracial family on a camping trip.
So naturally Ron wouldn’t mind putting his hands on Ted Cruz while also helping out a good cause that he can relate to.
Needless to say Cruz has since gone silent on the matter though we’re not sure if it’s because Perlman is actually down to give him (and Mitch McConnell) a well-deserved comeuppance or because he doesn’t want Black Lives Matter to get that $50K donation. Could be a combination of both.
Ya know ted, I’ve been giving this some thought- leave @Jim_Jordan home and give me 10 minutes with you and Mitch McConnell. Let’s see what else you muthafuckas can obstruct besides justice. All we need’s a time, place, and a few EMTs standing by. LMK. @tedcruz @senatemajldr
