Is Michael B. Jordan ready to make the leap from Hollywood heartthrob to big shot Tinseltown director? His Creed co-star, Tessa Thompson certainly seems to believe so.
In a recent interview with MTV News, Thompson stated that not only would Creed end up being a threequel, but that the film’s star, Michael B. Jordan would be stepping behind the camera and into the director’s chair when it begins filming in the near future.
“I haven’t talked to him about it because I’m going to pretend it hasn’t happened. I don’t want—we’re going to make another Creed very soon, and I don’t need this. I don’t need the Sexiest Man Alive to be, you know what I mean? I just don’t need it. I don’t need any of it. It’s a lot. It’s too much for me to shoulder. It’s too much for me to handle. No, I’m proud of him. I’m so happy for him. And I will give him a lot of crap about it in person, and I cannot wait.”
Oh really? Well, that should be interesting.
While the film’s studio, MGM and Jordan himself have yet to respond to requests for confirmation about Thompson’s revelation, they didn’t deny it so it seems like the dang thing might actually happen!
No word yet on who the film’s antagonist is going to be as of yet, but rumors have swirled that his next opponent will be the son of none other than Rocky III‘s Clubber Lang (Mr. T). Having already fought the son of Rocky IV’s Drago (Dolph Lundgren) in Creed 2, why not get Mr. T up in the mix and show kids what an 80’s badass really looked like. It’s either that or the son of Bruce Leroy Green (The Last Dragon) for us.
