While his Alt-Right critics would prefer that he’d “just shut up and dribble,” LeBron James has been using his platform, fame, and money to help enact the kind of change we’d expect from a superstar who came from humble beginnings.
After helping open up a public school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio and forming a Voting Rights group in time to help educate people on voting, Rollingout is reporting that King James is now opening a job training and financial center for anyone looking for change. The NBA icon turned philanthropist is on the cusp of opening up a 60,000 square foot venue dubbed House Three Thirty which will provide provide financial literacy advice, job training and recreational activities for area youth.
The number “330” is the area code for the city of 200,000 residents. Once dubbed the “Rubber Capital of the World,” Akron has continued to experience pains during its transition from being the epicenter for tire manufacturing and home to Goodyear, Goodrich and Firestone. James hopes this will help expedite the process.
Just give this man all the awards known to mankind at this point. He’s earning them.
House Three Thirty is expected to open it’s doors to Ohioans come 2022 and we’re sure people’s lives will change once it does.
Props to LeBron James for continuing to fight the good fight.
