A few months ago Dave Chappelle called on his fans to boycott his classic Chappelle’s Show to protest ViacomCBS reaping in all the royalties and cut him out of the loop of his own life’s work.

After Netflix honored his request and pulled the show from it’s streaming services it seems like ViacomCBS had gotten the message as Dave recently announced that he done got that elusive bag and Chappelle’s Show would be returning to Netflix and HBO Max. This past Friday (February 12), Chappelle shared a clip from a show he did in which he touched on the situation and after thanking his fans for making the show “worthless” due to lack of viewership, DC revealed that he got that call and got his name, license, and show back along with “millions of dollars” to boot.

Power to the people.

We’re happy Dave Chappelle FINALLY got control back of his classic comedy show after all these years of it being pimped out by ViacomCBS for their own profit. Luckily for Dave, he has a loyal following who’ll ride with him till the end of the world to make sure he’s good because that show provided us with hours of laughter, memories and classic TV moments. From 2003-2006, Chappelle’s Show was thee comedy show to watch on TV. If you missed it not only did you play yourself but you wouldn’t know what the heck people would be talking about the next day at work and would know you played yourself. Unfortunately, Dave walked out on the show while filming the third season as he said he was burnt out and lost creative control of the show amongst other things.

Dave then went M.I.A. for years to come but made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy just a few years ago via Netflix. Since then he’s been dropping new and hilarious stand-up specials and while we love them, we still always circle back to the Chappelle’s Show era that made him a king of comedy.

What’re the chances that Dave resurrects the show and brings us some new content now that he’s the sole controller of the franchise? Here’s to hoping for the big comeback.

Check out the clip below and let us know if you’d like to see Dave bring back the Chappelle Show.
