King Richard, the biopic about the father of Venus and Serena Williams, will arrive on November 25, 2020. Will Smith will star as Richard Williams and the film will be directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men). The screenplay was written by Zach Baylin.
The movie will likely follow Richard Williams journey as he dedicated his life to coaching Venus and Serena in tennis, although he didn’t have a tennis background. He trained the girls on dilapidated Compton tennis courts and apparently had to fight gang members to let them use the courts.
