They were cool, fly and knew how to rock a tomboy like sexiness that disarmed and enticed all at the same time. While frustrated by the men in the industry who would attempt to control their destiny as a unit, they persevered on their own terms and would leave generations of young women with song after song that exuded confidence and a bravado that only they could create. Women were empowered because they existed. Period. But even more importantly than all of that… they had something that many in their lane did not…they could sang!
