J.R. Ramirez cast as Wildcat on ‘Arrow’ season 3

RamirezWildcatAccording to Deadline, J.R. Ramirez has been cast as Wildcat for Arrow‘s new season this fall. Ramirez just came off the Starz series Power, playing Julio, but most folks may recognize him as Diego Hernandez from the Tyler Perry produced sitcom, House of Payne.

In the DC Comics Universe, Wildcat is Theodore “Ted” Grant, a boxer who gets trapped in the criminal underworld and dons the Wildcat alter-ego to clear his name. In Arrow, Wildcat will still be a boxer, but he’s running a gym for underprivileged kids and has a mysterious past. He has a pivotal role in Laurel Lance’s story arc this season.
