Shonda Rhimes, Viola Davis Team up For TV Pilot

Viola Davis

Shonda Rhimes and Oscar-nominated Viola Davis have a new TV show in the works, according to Cocoa Fab.

Rhimes tapped Davis to star in a legal drama pilot entitled, How to Get Away With Murder. The pilot will center around Viola Davis and a criminal defense professor, who get involved with a murder plot on the university’s campus.

Scandal writer Peter Nowalk will write the script, as well as co-executive produce with Rhimes and her producing partner Betsy Beers.

This would mark Viola Davis’ first lead TV role.

Hopefully it’s as juicy as Scandal and actually gets picked up for a full run.
