Anthony Anderson to star in new pilot ‘Black-ish’

anthony-anderson-people-s-choice-awards-2013-06Even though NBC’s Guys with Kids didn’t last too long, network execs still like Anthony Anderson. According to the Hollywood Reporter, ABC tapped Anderson to star in the pilot for the comedy Black-ish.

The show comes from The Game writer Kenya Barris and is loosely based on his life. Anderson would star as an “upper-middle class black man who struggles to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father and his own assimilated, color-blind kids,” according to the Reporter. The show would also be executive produced by Laurence Fishburne.

If the pilot gets picked up, Anderson would be working double-duty because he’s already hosting NBC’s upcoming game show Wall of Fame.
