Zoe Saldana stays with ‘Avatar’ for three more sequels

zoe-saldana2Looks like Zoe Saldana is filling up her calendar for the next four years or so. According to various reports, she and co-star Sam Worthington have signed up for three sequels to James Cameron’s 2009 fantasy sci-fi film, Avatar. Saldana will once again play Neytiri, the giant blue native of the planet Pandora, while Worthington will once again play wheelchair-bound Jake Scully.

Filming is tentatively scheduled to start at the end of 2014 with Cameron filming all three sequels simultaneously. The films will then be released during the holiday seasons of 2016, 2017 and 2018. Cameron and his team of writers are currently working on the scripts for the films so it’s way too early to speculate what direction they will go story-wise. We’re sure it’ll look amazing.
