Shonda Rhimes gets a book deal

Producer and writer Shonda Rhimes, creator of the "Grey's Anatomy" television series arrives at 39th Annual NAACP Image Awards in Los AngelesYou already know Shonda Rhimes. She’s the brains behind the immensely successful TV shows Scandal, Private Practice and Grey’s Anatomy. Now she’s looking to make a splash on book shelves. The TV writer signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster to write what is described as “part memoir, part inspiration and part prescription” set to hit shelves in 2015. The book will follow Rhimes’ life before Hollywood, her big break and the challenges she’s faced while being a full-time mother and creative.

“Simon and Schuster is crazy for giving me a book deal as I am clearly in no position to be handing out wisdom,” said Rhimes in a statement. “But I have made a lot of mistakes as a single mother and as a working mother and as a sleepless mother and as a dating mother. And I did all of it while running a bunch of TV shows. So I’m going to write about that and hope my kids don’t use it against me in therapy later.”

We’re sure ya’ll will love it.
